Patek Philippe 3861 18k Yellow Gold Blue Dial
Shaped watches are having a moment, and not many did it better than Patek in the 70's and 80's.
The 3861 is definitely of its era, and all the better for it. The 18k yellow gold case measures in at 33mm, but don't be put off by the size if that's not in the typical range you'd usually wear. The use of a totally integrated bracelet makes it wear more like a cuff, and wears beautifully on even the largest of wrist sizes. For reference, the wrist in the images is 7.6 inches.
Speaking of the bracelet, the feel on the wrist is second to none, and the condition is phenomenal. It shows a light tarnish across it, making it slightly darker than the head itself, which we love to see. It's also very long, and will fit a wrist size of roughly 8in and above in it's current length. This could be permanently shortened by a jeweler to suit your own wrist size, and the advantage of it being so long is that you can always size it down, but you can't go the other way, and that's often a limiting factor for many people with this type of bracelet.
The yellow gold is perfectly matched with the blue sunburst dial, which was recently replaced during a factory service with Patek in January 2025. The hands remain original, with only very light marks. The crystal was also replaced during service.
The case was given a very light polish during the service, but it was clearly extremely sympathetic as you can still see some light scratches and scuffs present. Lines are very strong, and all hallmarks are crisp. Please see images for full condition details.
Remains under Patek Philippe service warranty until January 2027.
