Jaeger LeCoultre AMVOX 2 DB9 Transponder Chronograph Limited Edition Q192T25
Jaeger LeCoultre AMVOX 2 DB9 Transponder Chronograph Limited Edition – 2010
The AMVOX line was created in partnership with Aston Martin, which is a relationship that harks back to the days of Jaeger making clocks for Aston Martin's as far back as the 1920's. This line was designed to drive creativity and innovation, and with the AMVOX 2 they nailed the brief.
Enclosed within the gorgeous 44mm titanium case, a truly innovative vertical trigger mechanism was added to the 751B chronograph movement allowing the chornograph to be started, stopped and reset without the use of traditional pushers. To start the chrono you simply press the crystal down at 12, the same to stop it, and simply press 6 to reset it. This was designed to allow racers to operate their chrono's while wearing racing gloves.
In addition to this amazing world-first vertical trigger touch chronograph system, for the DB9 Transponder edition has perhaps one of the coolest party tricks ever added to a watch. Utilising a microsystem housed on the back of the watch in conjunction with an antenna bult into the sapphire crystal, the DBS Transponder allows the unlocking, locking and flashing of the lights of your very own Aston DB9 or DBS with touch points at 4 and 8. How James Bond is that!
These DB9 Editions were available as a $29,500 USD option when purchasing your DB9 or DBS from Aston, and were coded to the cars from factory. This particular example has no coding, and is able to be coded by your Aston dealer to your DB9 or DBS if you’re lucky enough to own one. Hell, we’d be lying if we told you the thought of buying one just to go with the watch hadn’t crossed our minds!
This particular example dates from 2010 and presents in near mint condition. The case and buckle shows only very light signs of use. The strap has some deterioration on the outer textured surface which all of these particular AMVOX 2 straps seem to exhibit, though the rest of it seems rarely worn.
Appears to have had a warranty repair by JLC in December 2016 as referenced by a letter stating as such. Chrono starts, stops and resets as it should. We’re unable to test the transponder function as we unfortunately do not have an Aston to code it to! We believe codes need to be issued by Aston to have this function working correctly, and as we do not have these nor a car to code it to you'll need to do your own research with Aston Martin or JLC to determine suitability of this functionality for your car, and for this particular watch. We make no promises that this can be coded, so please keep that in mind. Happy to share the serial number for this purpose on request.
The model number stamping on the caseback reads 192.T.25 which seems to correspond with the AMVOX 2. We’re unsure of why this is, but serial numbers on the extract from the archives matches the serial of the watch, and the model number listed on said archive document also reads 192.T.25. It may be that all were stamped with this model number, but as the watches are so rare it’s difficult to ascertain. Please
Currently keeping time at COSC timing.
