Linde Werdelin Hard Black II HBII.2.6 - 2013

One of the coolest pieces ever made by Linde Werdelin, and a rarity in such condition on the pre-owned market.

Linde Werdelin holds a special place in our hearts here at Watch Vault, with our personal collection having at least one Linde Werdelin in it continuously for the past 10 years. We've owned a lot of them over the years, and to us this is one of their most successful designs and an absolute favourite.

The Hard Black II builds off the super successful 'The One' series of LW's, and adds a DLC case, almost-fluro markers, and an altogether stealth blacked-out aesthetic that looks phenomenal on the wrist. The case measures in at 46mm, but that is ear-to-ear from the underside of the case, so we find they wear more like a 44mm due to the large bezel and angled case extensions. From the face-side it measures 44mm across, and 40mm across the bezel. Don't be put off by the dimensions, the ergonomic case with downward facing lugs and flared strap makes it very comfy on the wrist. It's water resistant to 300m, and comes on some of the best straps in the industry.

Speaking of strap, this one has a slightly odd setup in that a previous owner obviously had a large wrist and removed the long side cut-out style textile with an XL regular textile. This means that one side has small holes in the strap, while the other does not. both materials are the same so it doesn't look odd, but thought we should mention it for full disclosure. The long side also has an extra hole punched so will fit on a 7.5in wrist with no issues.

This particular piece was first sold in 2013 and presents in TZ good condition. The DLC is near-perfect with a tiny dot on the bezel indent to the right of the 30 marker, and the only mark we can see is above the bezel on case body between 11 and 12, almost like a small dot, and the slightest of dings on the upper right bevel. Neither have gone through the DLC. We're downgrading it from near-mint to good for this.

The non-DLC buckle shows some desk diving marks. Lume pip at 12 is missing or has been removed, as is common on these. Please see images for full condition details.

These are rare to see in such amazing condition as the DLC usually shows some scrapes from almost 10 years of wear. While it's a slight bummer that the strap doesn't match on each side, the case and movement condition more than makes up for this.
