Nomos Ludwig 175 Years Watchmaking 205.S2

We absolutely adore Nomos here at Watch Vault, and they’re regularly our go-to recommendation for watches under 5k. They featuring fantastic finishing for the money, in-house movements, wonderful proportions and stunning Bauhaus designs that are unlikely to be confused with any other brand on the market.

In celebration of 175 years of watchmaking in the Glashutte region, in 2020 Nomos released a number of anniversary pieces with special case materials and dial configurations, including the Ludwig we have here. Its housed in its regular 35mm steel case, but differentiates itself from the regular production model with the combination of an enamel-white dial, blue-tempered leaf hands, and an anniversary engraving around the watch's sapphire glass case-back. Powering it is the in-house Alpha calibre manual wind movement, and it is absolutely stunning in person.

As usual for Nomos, this piece wears larger than its measurements indicate due to the long lugs and thin bezel. We'd say it's closer to a 36.5mm from another brand.

This particular piece was originally purchased locally in July 2020 and presents in TZ Near Mint condition, with the case showing only some very light hairlines and swirlies from careful use. Please see images for full condition details.
