Habring² Erwin Pilot

One of the best kept secrets in independent watchmaking, Habring² is the brainchild of husband and wife duo Richard and Maria Habring. They are renowned amongst seasoned enthusiasts for combining complicated watches with simple aesthetics like few else can, and all for very reasonable prices.

This particular piece is the Erwin Pilot, and is a little different to the more classically designed dress pieces you see from Habring. Featuring a svelte 38.5mm steel case that's only 9mm thick, it houses perhaps our favourite dial effect from Habring to date. It's matte black, with a grained, gravelly effect that looks spectacular in direct sunlight. The printed white numerals provide contrast for maximum legibility, and it's topped with cathedral hands with ecru lume to match the lume plots.

Powering it is the wonderful A11S in-house movement with signature jump-seconds complication, manual winding, and a 48 hour power reserve.

This particular piece was purchased locally in April 2022 and presents in TZ Excellent condition. The case shows only very minor hints of use. The Habring strap shows some wear and water marks, the largest being on the 12 o'clock side, which can be seen in the images, which is the reason for an 'Excellent' rather than 'Near Mint' grading.
