Kurono Tokyo 34mm Blue/White

For those unaware of Kurono Tokyo, it is the sub-brand of renowned independent watchmaker Hajime Asaoka, whom is widely regarded as one of the top watchmakers in the world. His watches are produced in extremely limited numbers, each an individual commission that can take years to deliver. In order to allow some of his magic to be enjoyed by the wider public, he created the Kurono Tokyo brand. These watches are designed by Hajime-san, but utilise components created to his specification from external manufacturers. Each watch then passes through his hands to ensure the quality is worthy of his name.

The piece we have here is known simply as the 34mm. Hajime-San wanted to create a vintage-inspired piece in a classical vintage size, but with modern robustness. He created a few prototypes for himself, and when demand grew amongst those close to him he decided to release a small range of 4 designs in a limited run of 80 pieces in each colourway. It features a 34mm forged steel case, and houses an Art Deco inspired Bullseye dial, which in this variant is white with a blue hour chapter ring. The hands are lumed, and it is powered by the usual 90S5 high-grade Miyota movement, and is assembled in Japan by hand.

This particular piece was delivered September 2022 and presents in brand new condition. Please excuse any dust or fingerprints in the images, we chose not to wipe it down to avoid any swirls on the case. See images for full condition details.
