Rolex Day Date White Gold 36mm 118239

White gold Day Dates are perhaps our very favourite Rolex variant, and for us, the classic 36mm sizing sits at the top of the tree. Not only are they built like an absolute tank, with a level of finish and build quality not seen of other Rolex references from similar years, they also wear super comfortably, and are not overtly recognisable as a Rolex for the uninitiated, something perhaps valued more these days than in the past.

This particular version is the 118239, which followed on from the 18239, one of which we own ourselves. It utilises the aforementioned 36mm case in white gold, and is mounted to the famed President bracelet. The dial is a sunburst dark silver with white gold Roman numerals, and surrounding it is the famed fluted white gold bezel. Powering it is the 3155 automatic movement with double quickset for the day and date, and 100m of water resistance.

This Y-serial dates from 2002, first sold locally in 2003, and presents in excellent neo-vintage condition. Watch has only had 3 owners form new, with the first owner buying it locally in 2003, and the current owner then purchasing it in 2022. The case is in fantastic condition. Shows some minor surface scratching, but nothing deep. Has protective stickers on the sides of the case. Dial is unmarked, and bezel is super sharp. Case back sticker in place. Comes on the original president bracelet. Shows next to no stretch, and will suit up to a 7.6in wrist.

Serviced in July 2022 by Adelaide Watch Repairs, it's running at COSC and all operations functioning as they should. This is believed to be it's only service, and previous owners state it is unpolished.

The chance to get your hands on such a fine and complete example of a white gold Day Date doesn't come along every day. These rare double-quickset 118239’s are highly sought after, and examples don’t get too much better than this one.
