Seiko 6309-7049 Turtle

An absolute icon of the dive-watch world and often seen as a must-have for watch enthusiasts just like a Speedy or Sub, the Seiko 6306 and 6309 were introduced after the more commonly known 6105 Willard and were originally designed to be a lower-cost option to the 6105. They became extremely popular in their own right, and were produced all the way up until 1988.

This particular 6306-7000 dates from Circa 1981, and is in very good vintage condition, with strong case lines. Has dings, dents and scratching commensurate with its age. Bezel action is crisp. All numbers visible on the case back.

The dial is original and in excellent condition. All tritium plots in place with minor wear. Tritium is also present in the hands, and these show degradation but are still full. There's some specks under the glass, which looks to be some tritium flecks from the hands we're assuming.

Service history is unknown. These can’t be manually wound so timing is difficult to ascertain. Appears to be running well for its age, and movement looks clean.

Currently mounted on a Uncle Seiko rubber strap which suits it perfectly, and comes with a Watch Vault travel case and cleaning cloth.

An very well preserved example of an iconic dive watch.
