Ulysse Nardin Diver Le Locle 3203-950
Released at SIHH in 2017, the UN Diver 3203-950 was part of a four watch release paying tribute to great watches in their back-catalogue. Inspired by a Diver originally released in 1964, it captures all of the vintage charm of the original piece, but with modern sizing, movement, and materials.
The steel case measures in at 42.2mm across the bezel, 48.5mm lug-to-lug and 13mm thick including the domed sapphire crystal. The case is heavily vintage inspired, with multiple facets, and strong lines, making it quite a bit different to most modern pieces. The aluminium bezel is uni-directional, and surrounds a vintage-inspired matte black dial with large ecru lume plots matching the hands. At 6 there is a beautifully integrated sub-seconds, and there's a date at 6 with cyclops, and is colour matched to the lume plots, something we don't see enough of these days. It's mounted to a lovely UN sail cloth strap with pin buckle, and powered by the in-house automatic UN-320 calibre with silicone hairspring and anchor escapement. Throw in 100m of water resistance and you've got a stellar everyday-diver that encapsulates what we love about vintage pieces in a modern package.
This particular piece one-owner piece was originally sold locally in 2017 and presents in TZ Good condition. Case is nice condition overall, with some light scratches present in addition to a ding on the base of the lower right lug, a nick along the lower bevel line of the upper left lug, and some small nicks along the bevel lines. Was serviced by the Hour Glass in November 2022 and is running at COSC specs. All functions operating as they should.
