Breitling Classic Avi Chronograph 42 P-51 Mustang A233803A1B1X1

Released in 2023 to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the 765 Co-Pilot watch, the latest AVI Chronograph series was released in 4 stainless steel variations, with each paying tribute to famous aircrafts from history. This particular version pays tribute to the P-51 Mustang, and combines vintage design cues with modern build quality, reliability, and contemporary sizing to create a very cool piece for the aviation enthusiast.

The case measures in at 42mm and is crafted in stainless steel, and is 14.7mm thick with a 48mm span lug to lug, and 100m of water resistance. The bezel is minimal, which we love, and the pump pushers along with the clearly defined mid-case create a svelte profile, especially as some of the overall height is attributed to the vintage inspire stepped crystal which creates a lovely distortion on the outer edge of the dial when viewed on an angle. The dial itself is the star of the show, with a matte black base surrounded by heavily lumed ecru Arabic numerals, with matching hour and minute hands. The sub-dials are sunken, with a concentric circle pattern, and a very cool lumed prop-motif on the 30 minute register, also with an ecru hand.

Powering it is the automatic Breitling Calibre 23 movement (ETA 7753), renowned for it's robust nature, accuracy and ease of servicing. It's mounted to a cognac leather strap with ecru stitching, and finished with a steel Breitling deployant.

This particular piece was purchased in July 2024 and presents in TZ 'Near Mint' condition, with the only hints of use being perhaps the lightest of swirlies and hairlines on the polished surfaces, and some very small marks on the case back. Strap looks to have barely been worn, if at all other than for photos, and the sticker is still on the clasp. Please see images for full condition details.

No service history, but much too new for that. Keeping COSC time and all functions operating as they should, and remains under manufacturers warranty.
