Longines Spirit Zulu Time Limited Edition For Hodinkee L3.802.1.59.6
Whatever your feelings are about HODINKEE, there is absolutely no doubt that they know how to make a watch better. Their limited edition pieces always hit the mark. This is their take on the Longines Zulu Time, and it's a corker.
The case for this LE has been crafted from titanium, and measures in at a Goldilocks 39mm x 46.7mm x 13.5mm. Matching the case is a beautiful titanium bracelet, tapering from 21mm at the lugs to 16mm at the clasp, making it absolutely featherlight on the wrist, and ultra comfy. The flat black dial features applied lumed indices in an ecru colour, with matching hands, and most importantly, date window. It's all about those details. The GMT hand has an orange tip to match the 'ZULU TIME' print, making for an extremely cohesive and very balanced dial. It's a lovely thing on the wrist.
Powering it is the Longines L844.4 automatic calibre with 72 hours of power reserve, and it's spec sheet is finished off with 100m of water resistance.
This particular example was first sold in December 2023 and presents in TZ 'Near Mint' condition. The case is virtually free from any signs of wear, with some light marks on the case back from being rested on its bracelet, and the bracelet shows some very light desk dive marks. No service history, far too new for that. Keeping COSC time, and all operations functioning as they should. Remains under manufacturers warranty.
Comes with outer box, inner box, Longines book, hang tags, Hodinkee LE booklet, COSC card, warranty card (blank), and spare links to complete the bracelet. Hodinkee warranty cards are often blank, but this was bought direct from Hodinkee by the current owner.
