Habring2 Doppel 3 Split-Seconds Flyback Chronograph 42mm

One of the best kept secrets in independent watchmaking, Habring² is the brainchild of husband and wife duo Richard and Maria Habring. They are renowned amongst seasoned enthusiasts for combining complicated watches with simple aesthetics like few else can, and all for very reasonable prices.

This particular piece is the Doppel 3 Split-Seconds, and is Habring² at their very best. Featuring a beautifully executed and very wearable 42mm titianum case, it houses a lovely vertically brushed grey dial in its centre, with a darker grey hour track with a concentrically brushed finish. It's topped off with white sub-dials, red chrono hand and white split-seconds hand.

Now, that last part gives a clue into the complexity of the movement powering this amazing watch. This is a mono-pusher split, meaning means that the start, stop and reset of the chrono function is performed with the single pusher above the crown and are far less common than their dual pusher counterparts. Not only that, but a split-seconds complication is added in, and is activated by the pusher on the left side of the case, allowing for interval timing. Allowing this complication is the architecturally stunning and superbly engineered manual wind in-house A08MR-MONO calibre. This calibres basic design was based off the Valjoux 7750, but such is the level of re-engineering by Habring² that few parts form the base movement have been retained.

This particular piece dates from 2013 and presents in TZ Very Good condition, with the case showing only minor signs of wear. Looks to have been serviced at some point, and there is a fleck of dust on the sub-seconds, and some present under the case back. Some movement components show some handling/moisture marks, which is the reason for an 'Very Good' rather than 'Near Mint' grading. Please see images for full condition details.

Mounted to a lovely Jean Rousseau leather strap in excellent condition, with Habring pin buckle.

Comes with wooden box, warranty booklet (expired), Watch Box warranty card and WV cleaning cloth. Spare parts that usually accompany these was likely used in the service.
