Czapek Antarctique Passage De Drake Deep Blue

Released in 2021, the Passage De Drake is an evolution of the Antarctique Terre Adélie and simply one of the coolest integrated bracelet sports watches on the market today.

The stainless steel case measures in at 40.5mm in diameter and just 11.1mm thick, with a 50mm lug-to-lug including the endlinks of the bracelet. Finishing is superb, and the evacuations in the side of the case allow it to feel even thinner than it already is. Within this case lies a Deep Blue dial with Czapek's 'Stairway to Eternity' pattern, which catches and plays with light without feeling quite as overtly flashy as a similar coloured dial within a Royal Oak. Indices are applied and lumed, with a discreet date wheel at 6 utilising the same font as the Arabic 12. It's this sort of attention to detail you love to see on watches at this price point.

Powering it is the amazing SXH5.01 micro-rotor movement. Designed by Daniel Martinez and Emmanuel Bouchet, the designer of the Opus 12's movement, it's impeccably finished, with a variety of finishes, black polished screwheads, inward angles and an extremely appealing architecture. It also features a free sprung balance and dual anchored balance bridge for shock resistance, and has a 60 hour power reserve.

The bracelet is a work of art. Finished in brushed and polished finish to match the case, it drapes around the wrist beautifully, and is extremely comfortably. Czapek also includes larger intermediate links to allow you to get the perfect fit when combined with the micro-adjust built into the clasp. It also features a quick release system allowing you to easily swap to the included Czapek rubber or leather straps.

This particular one-owner piece was first delivered in July 2021 and presents in TZ Good condition. Case shows some minor scratches and light scuffs, and the bezel shows some scratches and swirlies. The reason for the 'Good' rather than 'Excellent' grading according to the TZ scale is some minor dings along the bevel lines, though very, very small. Please see images for full condition details.

Bracelet is fully linked, and shows desk dive marks throughout. This was originally supplied without he quick release extensions, but Czapek provided these to the first owner and are currently fitted. The rubber strap has been cut for a roughly 7.4in wrist. Leather strap is in excellent condition with only minor signs of wear. Has had updated spring bars supplied by Czapek which removes much of the endplay you used to see on these early pieces.

No service history, but too new for that. All functions operating as they should, and keeping time at around +10 secs a day at high 200's amplitude at time of writing. Under manufacturers warranty until July 2024.
