H. Moser & Cie Pioneer Venturer Big Date Purity Rose Gold 2100-0402

We've sold our fair share of Moser's here at WV HQ, and this is far and away our favourite to date. Known as the Venturer Big Date Purity, it strips back the dial of the regular Venturer to simple quarter markers, with a sub-seconds at 6, and a big date at 3. But to call it simple would be doing it a major disservice.

Let's start with the case, which measures in at 41.5mm though tends to wear larger as it is mostly dial. It's 14.8mm thick, though a large part of that is the heavily domed crystal, and the lug to lug is 48.2mm which is reasonably short for a 41mm+ watch allowing it to fit on most wrists. The case itself is crafted in 18k Rose Gold, and is heavily sculptured on its sides, with a mix of polished and brushed sections that is both elegant and modern.

Within this gorgeous case lies a smoked fumé dial which is almost bronze in colour, with elements of silver depending on the light, with a dark copper at its outer edges. The indices are applied 18k rose gold, and rose gold hands. The combination of rose gold and the copper tones of the dial is a match made in horological heaven.

The movement in most Mosers is something to behold, but in this it is at another level again. Known as the HMC100 it is a manual wind, with twin barrels enabling it a monstrous 7 day minimum power reserve, with free sprung balance, overcoil hairspring, 14k gold escapement and a spectacular finish that shows amazing depth in person. It features hacking seconds, and the big date can also be changed both forwards and backwards, and is very satisfying to use with a heavily engineered feel to the date change and lovely winding click.

Finishing it off is a Moser Kudu strap on 18k gold tang buckle which not only looks great, but is super comfortable on the wrist.

This particular example was purchased in 2020 and presents in TZ Near Mint condition. Has very minor hairlines present on the polished surfaces as is inevitable with gold. Brushed surfaces very clean. No dings, nicks or dents present. See images for full condition details.

Was sent to Moser in 2021 where it was given a check over and light polish. Keeps time at around +15 to +20 seconds a day, date changes over as it should.
