Bulgari Octo Finissimo S Chronograph GMT Steel Blue Dial 103467

For us here at Watch Vault, the Octo Finissimo series is one of the most refreshing releases of the past decade and one that will no doubt be a future icon in the world of horology.

The initial releases from Bulgari focused on the use of titanium and a monochromatic look, which was then followed with offerings in blasted steel, ceramic and gold. All of these featured push-down crowns and 30m of water resistance, which limited their appeal to those wishing to subject it to water, and so in 2020 Bulgari released the Octo Finissimo series in a slightly thicker polished and satin steel case with screw down crown, imbuing it with 100m of water resistance.

The brushed and polished case remains a remarkably thin 8.75mm while measuring 43mm across, and within it is housed a blue lacquered sunburst dial with silver sub-dials which looks amazing against the steel case. It's quite changeable, looking vibrant under the sun, and reasonably muted out of direct sunlight which adds a layer of versatility. It’s powered by the technically brilliant BVL 318 calibre, itself measuring a scant 3.3mm thick and somehow managing to have not only a chronograph function, but also a GMT complication, and does so by utilising a platinum peripheral rotor. You don't see that everyday. In fact, its the world's thinnest automatic chronograph.

Along with this ridiculously thin case, the integrated steel bracelet is a wonder in itself. Again, super thin, perfectly formed links taper to a double-fold clasp with its own little party trick. The folding mechanism is partially recessed into the clasp and links, helping it to be ultra-comfortable, and ultra-thin.

This particular piece was purchased in November 2021 and presents in TZ Good condition. The case is largely free of marks, with only light swirls and few minor hairlines present. The bracelet shows some minor marks, with a small rub mark on across a couple of links on the 12 side. The reason for the 'Good' grading is a tiny ding on the outer edge of the bezel near the 5 marker. It's very small, but there so we like to be fully transparent.
