FP Journe Octa Linesport Octa Sport Automatique Reserve Titanium ARS2 44mm

Journe took the horological world by surprise in 2011 with the release of the original Linesport series, as a sports watch was entirely unexpected from the maker of what are ostensibly dress watches. The Linesport series introduced watches that were designed to be able to be worn daily, with their automatic winding, and lightweight titanium or aluminium cases paired with bracelets of the same material, or rubber straps for all-weather wearability. Representing the third series of the Octa Sport line, the ARS2 build on the initial releases with a new 44mm case and ceramic bezel.

Within this 44mm case lies a deep grey dial with luminous markers, power reserve indicator, day/night indicator, oversized date window and small seconds all executed in a typical Journe aesthetic. The case is very wearable at only 10.9mm thick, and weighs in at around 75 grams even when fitted to the lovely titianium bracelet. That bracelet is a spectacular piece of engineering, extremely lightweight and very comfortable. The spring loaded double deployant clasp is rubber coated to protect the nameplate, and uses screwbars for adjustment.

Powering it is the in-house calibre 1300.3 which is actually constructed in aluminium to save weight, and the Linesport series is the first to ever utilise the material for a movement as far as we're aware. It's finishing levels are top-notch, and it has a 120 hour power reserve with automatic winding.

This particular piece was first sold in October 2021 and presents in TZ Good condition. The case is extremely clean overall, with light scratches on the polished 'bumpers' being the only real scratches. The reason for the 'Good' grading rather than 'Excellent' is the presence of some dings on the inner ring that sits between the crystal and bezel, and a tiny mark on the outer edge of the crystal between 3 and 4.
