Grand Seiko Spring Drive 44GS 55th Anniversary SLGA013
Released in 2022 to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the 44GS case, the SLGA013 is also one of the first watches to feature the new Ever-Brilliant steel. This hard-wearing alloy is hailed as the worlds most corrosion resistant steel, and features a whiter colouring than usually seen in steel, something more along the lines of white gold, which helps accentuate the beauty of the 44GS case.
Housed within this 40mm Ever-Brilliant steel case is a gorgeous 'Orbit' dial which is a deeply etched pattern created to evoke the movement of stars in the galaxy, and signifies the passing of time. It's extremely difficult to photograph as it's very dark and not unlike the 'Rock' dial, but get it into natural light and it is simply spectacular.
Powering it is the 9RA2 Spring Drive movement with monstrous 120 hour power reserve, and allows for a thickness of 12.1mm even with automatic winding. Finishing levels on the movement are now even better, and the skeletonization of the rotor allows for a better view.
This particular example was sold new in the Grand Seiko Boutique in March 2022 and presents in TZ Near Mint condition. Has some minor hairlines and swirlies present on the polished surfaces, and a small scuff near the tip of the lower right lug. Rear of the lugs show strap change marks. Bracelet includes all links, and shows very minor desk dive marks.
Comes with outer box, inner box, warranty booklet dated Mar 2022, instruction booklet, hang tag and spare link to complete the bracelet.
