Jaeger LeCoultre Polaris Automatic Black Dial Q9008170
Released in 2018, the modern Polaris collection from Jaeger LeCoultre is part of a 50th Anniversary series in tribute to the original Polaris pieces from the 60's. Amongst this new collection lies the piece we have here, which is the simplest in the lineup, but perhaps the one that hits the sweet spot for overall proportions and daily-wearing ability.
The stainless steel case measures in at 41mm across the case, 47.5mm lug to lug, while only being 11.4mm thick, with a beautiful grained brushed finish on the case sides and tops of the lugs, and lovely polished bevels. Within it lies a striking black dial which echoes the Polaris of 1968, with a frosted hour chapter ring, oversized indices, and matte inner section. Surrounding it is an internal dive bezel rotated using the upper crown. The indices are all applied and lumed, making for a luxurious yet purposeful everyday wearer.
Powering it is a buttery smooth 898E1 automatic movement with tungsten rotor, ceramic rotor bearings, free spring balance and a 40 hour power reserve. It's mounted to a lovely steel JLC bracelet with integrated half link extensions in the buckle. Topping it off is 100m of water resistance, so it can accompany you wherever you so choose.
This particular piece was first sold in March 2023 and presents in TZ Near Mint condition. The case shows barely any hint of use, with all brushed surfaces being mark-free. The bracelet shows swirlies and light marks on the polished sections, and a few very minor marks on the brushed centre-links. Stickers still remain on the buckle, and some inner links. No service history, far too new for that. Winds beautifully, functions operate as they should, and keeping time at around +9 secs per day. Under extended JLC warranty until 2031.
Comes with the outer box, inner box, timepiece registration card, instruction booklet, warranty card dated March 2023 and spare link to complete the bracelet.
