Linde Werdelin Oktopus Titanium OKT 1.6

Linde Werdelin holds a special place in our hearts here at Watch Vault, with our personal collection having at least one Linde Werdelin in it continuously for the past 10 years. We've owned a lot of them over the years, and to us the earlier pieces are that much more special.

The Oktopus I is the first generation of the Okto series. While all pieces in this series are brilliant, the proportions and design of the original pieces encapsulates what we love about the design language of LW, with a cohesiveness and attention to detail that is rarely seen amongst other brands in our opinion.

The titanium case measures in at 46mm, but that is ear-to-ear from the underside of the case, so we find it wears more like a 44mm due to the large bezel and angled case extensions. From the face-side it measures 44mm across, with a uni-directional dive bezel covered in a black lacquer, and surrounding a deep black dial with applied markers and arabic numerals for the quarter markers, executed in LW's own font. It's topped with broad lumed hands which suit the aesthetic perfectly. Don't be put off by the dimensions, the ergonomic case with downward facing lugs and flared strap makes it very comfy on the wrist. It's water resistant to 1111m, and comes on one of the best rubber straps on the market.

This particular piece was first sold in 2012, and presents in TZ 'Excellent' condition. The case shows some scratches near the lower and upper lug areas, some small marks on the lower bevel line of the mid-case, and some minor marks on the lacquered bezel, though none that have gone through to the titanium below. Bezel is locked in place, though we believe this is just because it has some grit under it as it received a full service by LW in Feb 2024. Please see images for full condition details.

Its mounted to LW's superb rubber strap with DLC tang buckle.
